Falmouth Fashion Show rap up! All done.

Last evenings fashion show was amazing! My friend managed to capture a few pictures of my work on the cat walk. The white swimming costume was definetly my favourite. The dresser did an amazing job of putting it on but every other one looked fabulous too.

Fashion Show programme for tomorrow

Currently having to design the Fashion shows programme, and i can't decided on the colour background. Today in the studio is alot more chilled in comparison to yesterdays model fitting. Its all rather quite fun and extremely stressful.

The fashion show is tomorrow....and all the fittings are still not done....

Personal Project- Contemporary south africian dress

I was asked to come up with some design ideas for Shade who commits herself to the FXU South Africian group at univeristy. She gave me 3 traditional south africian fabrics to look at and said she wanted to make south africian dress more modern and contemporary. Westernising it so the dresses arn't as long as taditional wear. Its a rather interesting project to take on and its nice to do something for others that mean something.

In terms of inspiration i was thinking something rather tailored, fitted and figure hugging to emphasis the curves and i need another element to make the design ideas more interesting.... but what...hmm.

Critique day

Ok, so i've decided to use E blogger in comparison to all the other 50 websites i've had to join. Today i had my critique of my Diesel branding project.

It wasn't bad and wasn't particularly great, some of the comments were valid but they didn't particularly answer my questions on how i could improve my work.

My flats didn't translate very well in comparisons with my illustrations?
But i never seem to get told how to go abouts improving it, they seem to expect so much from me but i don't feel they do give me enough guidance in terms of techniques, what i need to avoid and emphasis as such which really frustrates me.

They tell me im capable of more and they don't phrase me because they need me to move on further.

Luella Photoshoot

Last photoshoot, featuring my Luella project. Shot in one of Falmouths hotels, i love the images, very quirky and cute with a elegant touch. Modeled by Sarah Haines who was kind enough to help me out at the last minuite and photographed by Tom Dymond from press photography, well done all! amazing.

First ever fashion shoot for swimwear in the woods, why not?

I

I had wanted a rather disturbing feel for the swimwear . I decided to use juxtoposition in my photoshoot, the photos were take by Ryan Tabor, a second year student like myself, who was interested in doing something rather different too.

On the day it was Ryan, Ben, Tom, Emma and myself, styling and assisting. It was really fun and enjoyable and we just got out before the hard rain hit us.

Finalising some work for the fashion show in May

Finalising all my second year work, its really difficult managing all my work in such a small time scale. Its really hard keeping myself motivated but i WILL get it done.
